A Comprehensive List of AI-Powered Games
AI in video games has fallen behind other applications of artificial intelligence, but things are slowly beginning to heat up. With NVIDIA recently announcing their ACE framework to help developers build AI agents, we’re slowly starting to see more movement in this space.
Currently, the majority of AI-powered games are from independent studios, while Chinese and South Korean firms seem to be leading the race in AAA development. NetEase has already implemented LLM-powered NPCs and in-game generative artwork creation in their MMO Justice Mobile, and Naraka Bladepoint is adding conversational AI companions next month.
Korean game developer Krafton is also planning on integrating AI-powered tactical bots in PUBG, and their currently in development inZOI is slated to have dynamic NPCs that react to the player’s actions.
Another upcoming Korean game MIR5 will feature adaptive AI bosses that learn from combat and become progressively stronger in subsequent battles.
